In the presence of representatives from the Federal Chamber of Engineers, the Association of Consulting Engineers, the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration and the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport, the charter of cooperation between the planning engineering firms and the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration was signed on 20 March 2025.

Tractebel Hydroprojekt was commissioned by the Main Waterways and Shipping Authority to provide the planning services for the construction of a universal replacement pair of gates for 19 of a total of 34 barrages along the Main federal waterway.

The project team from our Munich business unit took the opportunity to be present at the celebration of the start of the tunneling for the expansion and modernisation of the Forbach pumped storage power plant, which is over 100 years old.

Since February 2022, a municipal flood protection system has been built on the Elbe on behalf of Lutherstadt Wittenberg to protect the new residential neighbourhood "Am Stadthafen" from flooding of the Elbe.

It is certainly one of the most picturesque sites we are currently working on: the paper weir in Erfurt, right next to the historic Dreibrunnbad.
