At the beginning of November 2020, our annual external QM audit took place at the Magdeburg and Weimar sites. As a recertification audit, this was associated with an increased scope compared to previous years. As in recent years, it was carried out by DQS GmbH. more

The flood protection Weiden was manufactured in several construction phases from 1995 according to a rule profile approved by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment. Existing trees and plantings were then approved in the design and integrated into the new dikes. The dikes were statically inspected in 2019 in accordance with the current requirements of the Bavarian State Office for the Environment.more

Planning of a dike re-laying in Calbe (Saale)

The state agency for flood protection Saxony-Anhalt plans to increase flood protection in the Area of Calbe (Saale). In June 2020, Tractebel Hydroprojekt GmbH was awarded the contract for the planning services for the repair of the Saale dike in the section between deich-km 0.0 and Deich-km 3.5. The entire project area is located in the estuary of the Saale into the Elbe. During the 2013 flood event, there were significant pressure and smoke water leaks. Large-scale wetings occurred in the villages of Calbe (Saale) and Tornitz. The existing pre-floodwaters were not able to dissipate the resulting amounts of water without damage. Renovation of the flood protection system on Borkum

The flood protection facility in the area of the former Borkum naval facility is managed by the Federal Institute for Real Estate Tasks (BIMA), which wants to sell this facility to the city of Borkum. For the sale, it was necessary to undergo a basic repair of the surrounding flood protection system. For this purpose, BIMA commissioned the State Construction Management Ems-Weser as general contractor. more

Despite the ongoing Corona situation, the first groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the replacement of the Rodde and Venhaus locks took place on 22.10.2020. Since 2009, Tractebel Hydroprojekt GmbH has been jointly responsible for the planning of the five new locks together with its partners in the engineering community "INGE-Dortmund-Ems-Kanal".more

Flood protection for the city of Zeitz

With the June flood 2013 at the White Elster, the insufficient flood protection in the city of Zeitz became clear. Large parts of the city were flooded. Completion of defensive structure at the severable opencast mine lake Sedlitz

The end of lignite production in the Lusatian region will create the future Lusatian lake chain (catchment area approx. 200 km2) from the former open-cast mines north of Senftenberg. Upgrading of flood protection of the city of Ebersbach an der Fils

Although the town of Ebersbach an der Fils already has extensive flood protection facilities, several flood events in the past led to flooding in the settlement areas of the city. In September 2019, Tractebel Hydroprojekt GmbH was awarded the contract for the planning of the flood protection for the city of Ebersbach by the Stuttgart Regional Council as the lead authority in a Europe-wide tender procedure of the state of Baden-Württemberg.more

Conversion and modernization of the lock gate drives of the Kiel Great Lock (Kopie 1)

The Kiel-Holtenau lock system separates the Nord-Ostsee Canal from the Kiel Fjord as the world's busiest artificial waterway. It consists essentially of two double-chamber locks and a drainage system. The Kiel-Holtenau lock system transports up to 30,000 ships a year for professional shipping, although currently only the Great Lock can be used for shipping. In addition, in the summer months, about 12,000 recreational boats per season are added during the day and in clear weather. more

Flood retention basin stops flooding of the Wipper

More than twenty locations on the Wipper will protect a new flood retention basin from flooding. The ecologically consistent structure can retain up to 4.25 million cubic meters of water.
