Our Magdeburg business unit has been contracted as a subcontractor for the workshop-ready planning of the mechanical engineering and components of the main and emergency drive of the lock gates.

Ebersbach an der Fils was severely affected by the extreme flooding that occurred in the region in early summer 2024. Tractebel Hydroprojekt was awarded the contract by the Stuttgart Regional Council to implement several measures to further improve flood protection.

The project team from our Munich business unit took the opportunity to be present at the celebration of the start of the tunneling for the expansion and modernisation of the Forbach pumped storage power plant, which is over 100 years old.

Since February 2022, a municipal flood protection system has been built on the Elbe on behalf of Lutherstadt Wittenberg to protect the new residential neighbourhood "Am Stadthafen" from flooding of the Elbe.

It is certainly one of the most picturesque sites we are currently working on: the paper weir in Erfurt, right next to the historic Dreibrunnbad.

Our Magdeburg division was responsible for planning the renewal of the Meldorf floodgates and drives from 2017 to 2020. They were put into operation in 2020.

News from the DEK-Nordstrecke: Work has begun on the 2nd construction phase of the Rodde lock structure. Tractebel Hydroprojekt GmbH has been commissioned with the calculations for the execution of the hydraulic steel structures.

The German Engineering Prize has been awarded four times so far, with the barrage in Greifswald and the Kienlesberg Bridge in Ulm being awarded twice to projects in which we were involved. This year, we would like to submit a project ourselves in coordination with the Wasserstraßen-Neubauamt Berlin.

The Wasserstraßen-Neubauamt Magdeburg is planning to improve ecological continuity for aquatic organisms migrating both upstream and downstream as part of the replacement construction of the Quitzöbel weir. Together with the Neuwerben, Altarmwehr and Gnevsdorfer Wehr weirs, it forms the Quitzöbel weir group.

With the earlier lignite phase-out in Germany, coal production in the Hambach opencast mine will cease at the end of this decade. The subsequent use of the opencast mine by filling it as an opencast mining lake will begin in 2030.
