The cascade-arranged Yedigöl and Aksu Hydroelectric Power Plants (HPP) are situated at the Aksu river in northeastern Turkey. Tractebel Hydroprojekt GmbH (formerly Lahmeyer Hydroprojekt GmbH) conducted an examination of the existing feasibility studies and tender documents, pointed out necessary changes and was subsequently entrusted with the design overhaul. The changes focused primarily on the hydraulic systems and pressure tunnels as direct connection between intake and powerhouse.

The works began in 2009, commercial service commenced in autumn 2011 with the Yedigöl HPP. Tractebel Hydroprojekt GmbH (formerly Lahmeyer Hydroprojekt GmbH) served as owner's engineer during the construction works, verified and confirmed the construction documents and supervised the excavations.
