The flood protection concept for the Zwickauer Mulde River developed by Tractebel Hydroprojekt GmbH (formerly Lahmeyer Hydroprojekt GmbH) envisaged protective measures for the town of Penig in Saxony, Germany. The trail was divided into separate lines: A, B, C1 and D.

The B section is situated along the Lunzenauer Street and is comprised of two construction types. The first wall section is a replacement structure of the old rubble wall. The design of the new natural stone facing and the inclusion of glass superstructures have been developed in accordance with the client. For this purpose a full-scale model has been created beforehand. The second wall section is situated along the buildings.
