Gate lift at the Besigheim lock

Since 2010, we have been involved in the complete overhaul and extension of the Besigheim lock. This is located at the lower end of an approximately 0.6 km long lock canal on the Neckar River and consists of a double lock on the right bank.

The associated three-field weir and power station are located on the Old Neckar at km 136.6.

The lock gates were last upgraded in 1992, while the gate drives and electrical engineering date back to the construction period (1955) and are also in urgent need of replacement. This video from the WSV shows the lifting of the replacement structures, which requires extreme precision in planning and execution to ensure that everything runs smoothly: Neckarschleuse Besigheim: Neue Tore für die linke Schleusenkammer
