The Wippra flood retention basin is part of a flood protection concept for the Wipper river comprising 621 km² and is being constructed near the village of Wippra, Germany. The basin will be capable of holding 4.25 mill. m³ of water. Lahmeyer Hydroprojekt has been entrusted with the general design including site supervision in May 2013. The construction works commenced in June 2014 and are expected to be finished in summer 2016.
