Completion of detailed design for the rehabilitation of the Lichtenberg Dam, Germany

The Lichtenberg Dam in the eastern Ore Mountains has been commissioned in 1975 and serves as a means of potable water extraction, flood protection and low water elevation. An examination carried out in 2008 revealed the necessity of rehabilitation works on various components, mainly the external sealings of dam and complex structure, dam crest and tower head.

The preliminary design has already been finished in January 2015 by a joint venture lead by Lahmeyer Hydroprojekt. The determined variant of choice was confirmed by the client two months later. In September 2015, another milestone was reached with the completion of the detailed design.
