Based on the approved design planning, the construction measure was to be implemented in 2017. All the necessary deadlines for awarding the construction work were met by Tractebel Hydroprojekt GmbH. Due to a lack of price offers, the construction work was not awarded in 2017. In a new award procedure, the company Steinle Bau GmbH was awarded the contract. Construction work began in summer 2018 with the construction of the Bode crossings in the tailwater of the weir. This was followed by the pile driving and concrete work for the construction of the approx. 65 m long slotted pass on the right side of the weir and the construction of canoe moorings in the headwater and tailwater on the left side of the weir. The fishway was sized for lower barbel/upper lead and salmon. The slot pass consists of 17 pools, each 3.50 m long and 2.45 m wide, and a 4.50 m control pool at the upstream intake of the facility. The entraining flow is reinforced by a DN 500 bypass pipe. The functional check was carried out in April 2019, so that the measure will be completed in May 2019.
